Jang Song-u was a North Korean politician and general born on April 7, 1933, in Cheonnae-gun, South Hamgyeong Province. He was notably the chief commander involved in the 1983 Rangoon bombing at the Aung San Mausoleum in Yangon, Myanmar. He is recognized as the elder brother of Jang Seong-gil and Jang Song-thaek. Jang Song-u passed away in August 2009.
