She gained fame as Playboy's Playmate of the Month in December 1978, with her centerfold photographed by Ken Marcus. Quist was discovered during a photo contest held by Playboy in 1977. Unlike many other models for the magazine, she had acting jobs prior to her modeling work. Additionally, she holds a degree in cosmetology.
