Jan Procházka is a Czech (Moravian) writer, journalist, screenwriter, and politician. He worked in the apparatus of the Czechoslovak Youth Union and the Communist Party during the 1950s and 1960s, and from the 1970s onward, he focused on screenwriting and writing. He is the father of writers Lenka Procházková and Iva Procházková.
