Jan Drion was a Dutch jurist and professor at Leiden University, known for his significant contributions to the new Dutch Civil Code before his untimely death in 1964. He was the son of politician Frans Drion and older brother of legal scholar Huib Drion. During World War II, he and his brother published an underground newspaper, De Geus. He earned his PhD with honors in 1950 with a dissertation on legal history and began teaching civil law and international private law at Leiden University soon after.
