Jan de Bruine was a Dutch equestrian born in Winschoten on July 15, 1903. He competed in the 1936 Berlin Olympics, where he participated in two equestrian events with his horse Trixie. De Bruine won a silver medal in the team show jumping event and placed eleventh in the individual show jumping event. After World War II, he attempted to compete in the 1948 London Olympics but was unsuccessful. He passed away in Anglet on April 4, 1983.
