James Wilfred Jefford (March 22, 1901 - January 1, 1980) was the first Chief of Naval Staff of Pakistan Navy, which was established after the creation of Pakistan in 1947. An Englishman, he began his career in the Royal Indian Navy and served in both World Wars. He rose through the ranks and became Rear Admiral in 1947. He played a significant role in shaping the nascent Pakistan Navy and was promoted to Vice Admiral before his retirement in 1953.
