James Thomas DeVoss (March 22, 1916 – April 8, 2008) was a renowned American philatelist recognized for his expertise in identifying fakes and counterfeits in philately. He served as the director of the American Philatelic Society's expertizing service and was honored by being added to the Roll of Distinguished Philatelists in 1981. He co-authored 'The Yucatan affair: the work of Raoul Ch. de Thuin, philatelic counterfeiter,' which documented the forgery activities of Raoul de Thuin.
