He served as the Receiver-General for the Duchy of Cornwall from 2000 to 2022 and was the executive chairman of UK Financial Investments until its closure in 2018. The son of a former Governor of the Bank of England, he was educated at Eton and Christ Church, Oxford. He began his career at S. G. Warburg & Co. and became the CEO of Credit Suisse's UK operations in 2008. He has received honors including Commander of the Royal Victorian Order and a knighthood.
