James J. Jordan Jr. was a prominent American ad-man and sloganeer known for his influential work at BBDO. He created memorable slogans such as 'Us Tareyton smokers would rather fight than switch!' and directed major campaigns for brands like Pepsi and Burger King. After departing from BBDO in 1976, he founded his own agency, which later merged to become a significant full-service agency. Born in 1930, Jordan graduated from Amherst College and served on its board. He passed away in 2004 while snorkeling.
