James J. Craven Jr. (March 24, 1919 – June 6, 1991) was a member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives representing the 12th Suffolk District from 1957 until being unseated in November 1984. His political career ended amid controversy, as he was found guilty of violating the state's conflict-of-interest law and faced reprimand for breaching the legislature's code of ethics. He played a significant role in the passage of the Doyle-Flynn Bill in 1978, which restricted Medicaid funds for abortions, though its provisions were overturned in 1981.
