He had notable achievements in marathons during the late 1950s and early 1960s, including a second place finish at the Yonkers Marathon in 1959 and an eighth place at the Boston Marathon the same year. He won a silver medal at the Pan American Games in Chicago and achieved a personal best of 2:23:37, finishing third at the Boston Marathon in 1960.
