James A. Glisson was an American chiropractor and state legislator born on January 6, 1939, in Jackson County, Florida. He completed his chiropractic studies at Palmer College and served in the Florida House of Representatives for the 33rd district from 1968 to 1972 as a Republican. In 1973, he was elected to the State Senate, representing the 11th district until 1978. In a significant political shift, he changed his party affiliation from Republican to Democratic in 1976. He passed away on September 30, 2021.
