Sir James Enrique Carreras was a British film producer and executive, co-founder of Hammer Film Productions. His career, lasting nearly 45 years, included managing a cinema, working in film distribution, and serving in World War II as a Lieutenant-Colonel. After the war, he became managing director of Exclusive Films and co-produced 'Who Killed Van Loon?'. From 1949 until 1980, Carreras was the chairman of Hammer, leading it into a prominent position in the film industry before his retirement in 1972.
