Jacques Nys was a French athlete born on April 19, 1943, in Roubaix, Nord, France. He specialized in discus throw and won the French championship in 1971. Nys improved the national record twice, first achieving a distance of 57.02 meters in September 1970, surpassing Raymond Baché's record, and later throwing 57.10 meters in June 1972. Unfortunately, he lost his record to Michel Chabrier in July 1972. Nys passed away on March 9, 2018.
