Jack Toohey was an Australian rules footballer born on April 4, 1925, in North Carlton. He played for Fitzroy and St Kilda in the Victorian Football League (VFL). As a half back flanker, Toohey made his league debut in 1947, showcasing a promising career. He was impacted by injuries throughout his time with Fitzroy, leading to a coaching role at Holbrook in 1950. After returning to Fitzroy and later joining St Kilda for a season, he transitioned into coaching Brighton in 1953. Toohey passed away on September 3, 2010.
