John McLeod Taylor was a New Zealand rugby union player born on 12 January 1913 and passed away on 5 May 1979. He played the position of fullback, representing Otago and Wellington at the provincial level. Taylor was a part of the New Zealand national team, the All Blacks, during 1937 and 1938, participating in nine matches and scoring 45 points. Following World War II, he continued his involvement in rugby as a coach, selector, and administrator, including a coaching role in Wellington and chairing the Wellington Rugby Union management committee.
