John Hawkes Malone was an Australian rugby union player known for his role as a prop. Nicknamed 'Steak' due to his large hands, he played for the Drummoyne club and earned four caps for the Wallabies between 1936 and 1937. Malone participated in three Tests during the 1936 tour of New Zealand and a home Test against the Springboks in 1937. Tragically, he died in 1947 in a road accident while on duty as a police constable, escorting a military convoy.
