Jacobus van Veen was a Dutch politician born on August 2, 1913, in Uithuizermeeden. He served as a member of the municipal council in Uithuizermeeden and was also a farmer. In early 1974, following the health issues of the sitting mayor, he was appointed interim mayor of Uithuizermeeden in April after local council objections prevented another candidate's appointment. He officially became mayor when the previous incumbent did not return. His term ended in 1979 when Uithuizermeeden merged with Uithuizen, concluding his mayorship.
