Jagdish Mitra Pahwa (1922-2001) was an influential Indian ophthalmologist known for his expertise in Retinal Detachment and Photocoagulation. He conducted numerous charitable eye camps across India, showcasing his dedication to social work. Born on 4 July 1922 in Multan (now Pakistan), he graduated from King Edward Medical University, Lahore. He was honored as a fellow of the National Academy of Medical Sciences in 1969 and received the NAB Rustom Merwanji Alpaiwalla Memorial Award in 1944. In recognition of his contributions, he was awarded the Padma Shri by the Government of India in 1973.
