Iwan completed his undergraduate degree at Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Jakarta in 1993, and began his career as a radio announcer at Radio DMC from 1993 to 1999 before managing programs at Radio 'S'. He pursued a Master's degree in economics at Universitas Krisnadwipayana starting in 1997 and has been with TVRI since 2004.
