Ivar Gjørup, born on September 22, 1945, is a Danish cartoonist known by his artistic name Olfax. He gained recognition for his comic strip Egoland, which he created in 1984 for Dagbladet Information and later published in Politiken from 1986 to 2009. Gjørup grew up in Randers, earned a cand.mag. in classical philology from Aarhus University, and has worked as a lecturer. He has authored plays and a book discussing writing and consciousness over millennia. His contributions to the arts have been highly regarded, culminating in a successful career spanning several decades.
