Ivan Romanov, born Ivan Nikolajivitj Romanov on February 13, 1906, in Siberia, was a Swedish author, illustrator, painter, and graphic artist. He claimed to be a descendant of the Russian Romanov royal family. Romanov was raised as a Buddhist priest in O Mei monastery at the border of Manchuria and Outer Mongolia, where he learned various artistic skills. He moved to Sweden in the mid-1930s, published several books, and taught Tibetan philosophy. In 1950, he illustrated 'En dröm i seklets natt' by Gustav Hedenvind-Eriksson.
