Isao Takahashi (March 11, 1920 - 1998) was a Japanese Buddhist monk and scholar associated with the Nichiren sect. Born in Nishi-ku, Osaka, he graduated from Osaka Prefectural Sumiyoshi Junior High School and later from the Buddhist Studies department at Toyo University. After serving in the military, he became a teacher at Otani Academy in 1948, and later served as vice-principal of Todai Otani High School from 1964 to 1977, and as a professor at Otani Women's Junior College. He was also the chief priest of Shobuku-ji.
