Isao Kadota (March 20, 1902 - October 26, 1984) was a Japanese journalist born in Tokyo. He graduated from Kyoto Imperial University with a degree in law in 1927 and joined the Tokyo Asahi Shimbun, where he held various positions including chief of the social department and chief of the cultural department. In 1950, he became the editorial director of the Osaka headquarters. During his student years, he worked as a tutor for the son of a university professor. He lived in Kamakura and received a recommendation from Yasunari Kawabata for his work 'Foreign Views'.
