Isamu Kurita (July 18, 1929 – May 5, 2023) was a Japanese scholar of French literature, art critic, writer, and translator. He was the honorary director of the Institute of Japanese Culture at Komazawa Women's University. He was the first to translate all of the works of the French symbolist poet Comte de Lautréamont into Japanese and also translated works by Leon Trotsky. He was also a poet and playwright. He developed a diverse range of creative and critical activities, and published many books on Japanese culture, including Buddhism, temple architecture, and art.
