Irma Arestizábal was an Argentine art historian and curator, born on April 10, 1940, in Bahía Blanca. She was recognized as one of the foremost experts in Latin American art. In her later years, she worked as an art critic, independent curator, and professor of Latin American art at the University of Buenos Aires. Additionally, she served as the cultural secretary of the Istituto Italo-Latinoamericano in Rome and curated the Latin American Pavilion at the Venice Biennale from 2003 to 2009.
