Irene Luxbacher is a Canadian artist and children’s book illustrator, born on December 10, 1970, in Toronto. She graduated with a degree in Art History from Queen's University and studied Fine Art at Emily Carr University. Known for her acclaimed works in children's literature, particularly the Jumbo Books and Starting Art Series, she has received praise from educators and parents alike. In 2009, Luxbacher became a finalist for the Governor General's Awards for her illustrations in The Imaginary Garden. She continues to live and work in Toronto.
