Iona Banks (20 December 1920 – 20 May 2008) was a notable Welsh actress, originating from Trelogan, Flintshire. She started her acting career at Theatr Fach, Rhyl, and was a co-founder of Theatr Cymru. Banks gained recognition for her role in BBC Cymru's adaptation of T. Rowland Hughes' novel 'Chwalfa' in 1966. She performed in English plays, including 'Our Day Out' (1977) and reprised her role in 'One Summer' (1983). Additionally, she was renowned for portraying Gladys Lake in the soap opera 'Pobol y Cwm' for over 20 years.
