Iola Fuller was an American writer born on January 25, 1906, in Marcellus, Michigan. She is best known for her first novel, The Loon Feather, which won the Hopwood Award in 1939. This novel, set on Mackinac Island in the early 1800s, tells the story of the daughter of the American Indian leader Tecumseh. During World War II, the book had a significant impact with 150,000 copies being printed as Armed Services Editions for distribution to American armed forces.
