She founded the hairdressing chain Nikita Hair in 1984 and is the owner of Raise Gruppen Holding AS, one of Europe's largest hairdressing companies. Nicolaisen received several awards, including 'Leader of the Art' and 'Businesswoman of the Year' in 2002, and was featured in the television series 'Kandidaten' in 2004. She also published a book titled 'Drivkraft' in 2006.
