Ilona Emilia Punkkinen, born on October 28, 1982, in Lappeenranta, is a Finnish hurdler and sprinter affiliated with Lappeenrannan Urheilu-Miehet. Coached initially by Markus Iitiä and later by Milla Kelo, she has won multiple national championship medals and competed in several international championships. Punkkinen specialized in the 400 meters hurdles, achieving significant success, including nine outdoor and six indoor national medals, with seven golds in her main event. She participated in the 2005 and 2007 world championships and various European competitions.
