Ikurō Saeki (1901-1992) was a Japanese bureaucrat, poet, and education advocate. Born in Iwate Prefecture, he graduated from Waseda University in 1925 and worked in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, where he played a key role in children's literature regulation. After WWII, he served in Iwate Prefectural Government and later as a professor. Saeki began writing poetry in university, publishing several poetry collections, and was involved in the children's cultural movement. He contributed to the establishment of the Japan Shōkokumin Cultural Association in 1941.
