Hywel Gethin Davies was a distinguished Welsh radio broadcaster, television interviewer, and writer. Born in Llandysul in 1919, he attended Llandeilo Grammar School and later graduated with an M.A. in English Literature from the University of Edinburgh. He began his career at BBC as a television announcer and news reader, eventually becoming the editor of Welsh news. By 1958, he was Head of Programmes in Wales. Davies also wrote for and presented the TV series 'Home Town' in 1952. He passed away in 1965.
