Hrachya Demirchanov was an Armenian physicist born on December 14, 1914, in Tbilisi, Russian Empire. He became a Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences in 1963 and was promoted to professor in 1969. Demirchanov was recognized as a Distinguished Scientist of the Abkhaz Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic in 1964 and of the Georgian Soviet Socialist Republic in 1981. He passed away on September 30, 1983, in Sukhum, Georgian SSR, USSR.
