Hollis Gentry III was an American saxophonist, music producer, and composer known for his work in Smooth Jazz and Latin Jazz. Born on December 3, 1954, in Corpus Christi, Texas, he grew up in San Diego and founded a funk band at the age of fifteen. Gentry gained recognition in the 1980s as a founding member of the group Fattburger. He earned a master's degree in music and collaborated with numerous notable musicians. He also co-founded the music company NETunes, serving as Senior Vice President and A&R. Gentry passed away on September 5, 2006, at the age of 51.
