Hiroyoshi Kawata (November 26, 1922 - February 14, 2004) was a Japanese businessman and the second chairman of Nikkan Sports Newspaper. He was instrumental in automating the typesetting process and developing innovative printing methods, including the Nikkan-style insulator in 1967 and successful on-site printing using newspaper facsimile in 1977. Kawata also contributed to the development of the newspaper production system known as 'NEPS'. His father was the founder of Nikkan Sports, and his eldest son is the current chairman and president of the company.
