Hiroyasu Koga is a Japanese former member of the Tatenokai and a kaishakunin who beheaded Yukio Mishima and Masakatsu Morita during their seppuku on November 25, 1970. Born on August 15, 1947, he studied law at Kanagawa University and aspired to be a lawyer. Known by the nickname Furu Koga to distinguish him from fellow Tatenokai member Masayoshi Koga, he expertly practiced kendo. Koga was later convicted of various charges related to the incident and allegedly became a Shinto priest or the head of a branch of Seicho no Ie after serving his sentence.
