Hiroshi Kobatake (August 2, 1935 - November 8, 1996) was a sculptor from Musashino, Tokyo. After graduating from the Tokyo University of the Arts, he exhibited his works in various settings including individual, group, and outdoor exhibitions. Initially, he created abstract stone sculptures but transitioned to figurative wood carvings around 1963. He founded a wood sculpture workshop in 1969, started producing bronze works in the early 1970s, and continued to mentor students while producing large-scale public sculptures.
