Hiraku Nakajima is a Japanese mathematician born on November 30, 1962. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Tokyo in 1991. Nakajima was a plenary speaker at the International Mathematical Congress in Beijing in 2002 and was awarded the Cowles Prize in Algebra in 2003. He is known for proving the Nekrasov conjecture and received the Japan Academy Prize in 2014. Since 2018, he has been a full professor at the Kavli Institute near Tokyo.
