Higinio Ruvalcaba was a Mexican violinist and composer born on January 11, 1905, in Yahualica, Jalisco. He learned violin from his father at the age of four and performed as a soloist for the first time at twelve. In 1943, he became part of the Léner String Quartet, taking the place of founder Jenö Léner. Ruvalcaba had a significant influence in the classical music scene in Mexico and toured with various renowned musicians until his death on January 15, 1976, in Mexico City.
