Hertha Trappe (1904-1989) was a German writer known for her debut novel, 'Was ich wandre dort und hier', published in 1954. She was recognized with the Charles-Veillon Prize for her work, which explored themes of love amidst post-war cynicism. Despite her acclaim, her style received mixed reviews from critics, who compared her work to that of contemporary authors. Trappe also participated in the 1956 Schmallenberger Dichterstreit and published a collection of short stories, 'Clemens und Balbina', in 1963.
