Herbert V. Clark was a U.S. Army Air Force officer and combat fighter pilot, renowned for his service with the 332nd Fighter Group, known as the Tuskegee Airmen, during World War II. He completed two tours of duty and was engaged in ten missions. In 1944, his aircraft was shot down over Italy, leading to his status as missing in action. Clark evaded capture for eight months thanks to the Italian resistance before rejoining his unit and retired as a major.
