Herbert Glejser (1938–2024) was a prominent Belgian economist and econometrician, best known for developing the Glejser test for heteroskedasticity in 1969. Throughout his career, he served as an Economics professor in Belgium until 2003 and held visiting professorships at prestigious US universities including MIT, Berkeley University, and UCLA, as well as institutions in Brazil, Germany, and Israel. He co-founded and was the first editor of the European Economic Review, a significant journal in the field of economics.
