Henk Aukes was a Dutch Roman Catholic educator and director of 'Vinea Domini', an educational center in Wytmarsum from 1956 to 1970. He previously worked in publishing, at the university library in Nijmegen, and in regional radio. Aukes also served as chairman of the Roman Catholic Frisian Union from 1956 to 1972 and was involved in adult education and ecumenical collaboration. He was the first chairman of the European Commission for Education and Ecumenism, publishing works related to Frisian and Roman Catholic matters.
