Hellmuth Langenbucher was a German literary scholar born on July 29, 1905, in Loffenau and passed away on May 18, 1980, in Warmbronn near Stuttgart. After 1933, he became known as a 'literature pope' and was regarded as one of the leading literature historians under the Nazi regime. He was influential as a journalist and publicist for the NSDAP. Langenbucher also wrote under various pseudonyms, including Walther Erich Dietmann, Rudolf Öttinger, Hermann Engelhard, and Rudolf Walter Lang during different periods of his career.
