Heinz Meixner (January 19, 1935 – June 17, 2016) was a German mining engineer and professor specialized in surveying. He held a chair at the TU Bergakademie Freiberg and taught as a full professor. Meixner was co-author and editor of the standard work on mining surveying. He completed his doctorate in 1964 with a dissertation focusing on the accuracy of tellurometer measurements in brown coal open pit mining, and he habilitated three years later.
