Heinz Koch was a pioneering German badminton player from Solingen, known for his significant contributions to the sport in West Germany during the 1950s. He won the mixed doubles title at the first German Championships in 1953 alongside Hannelore Schmidt, and they repeated this success in 1956 and 1958. In 1958, he also claimed the team championship with the Solingen team. Koch passed away on October 27, 2000, just eight days after his 70th birthday.
