Heinz-Günter Wittmann (January 1, 1927 – March 31, 1990) was a German biochemist known for his research on ribosomes. He served as the director of the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Genetics and was awarded the Otto Warburg Medal in 1976. His work contributed significantly to the field of molecular biology, particularly in understanding the structure and function of ribosomes in cells.
