Heinz Fuchs was a German art historian born on May 17, 1917, in Vaihingen an der Enz. He earned his doctorate in art history in 1939 and became a curator at the Kunsthalle Mannheim in 1947, initially under director Walter Passarge. Fuchs served as the museum director from 1959 until 1984, after which Manfred Fath succeeded him. He passed away on December 3, 2001, in Mannheim.
