Hedi Thabet, born on December 2, 1942, in Tunis, Tunisia, is a Tunisian writer, novelist, academic, and translator. He has published articles in various literary journals and translated a scientific article about Sumerian writing. His first book, 'Ghar al-Jinn', was published in 1999. He won the Golden Kumar Award for Arabic literature for his novel 'Al-Farnfal does not live in the desert' and has a keen interest in science fiction, having translated several stories by French writer Philippe Karr Valentin.
